Easy Air Fryer Pizza Grilled Cheese

Air fryer Pizza Grilled Cheese - Two amazing comfort foods combined to make a delectable pizza sandwich. Pepperoni, ham, and melty cheese in between two buttery slices of toasted bread. This is the ultimate pizza sandwich!

  • Air Fryer


  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 tablespoon pizza sauce
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 slice ham
  • 6 slices pepperoni
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning


Air Fryer Instructions:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit and set the timer to 5 minutes.
  • Place two slices of bread on a plate or cutting board and spread each slice with an even layer of butter.
  • Flip the bread over and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce to each slice.
  • To one slice of bread, add a layer of mozzarella cheese, one slice of ham, 6 pepperoni slices, and more mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle some garlic powder and Italian seasoning on top. Place the remaining slice of bread on top to make a sandwich.
  • Add the sandwich to the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes until golden brown. Flip halfway through.
  • Remove the sandwich from the air fryer. Let cool. Then cut in half and enjoy!

Stove Top Instructions:

  • Lay slices of bread on a cutting board or plate. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Turn the slices of bread over and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each slice of bread.
  • To one slice of bread layer on mozzarella cheese, ham, 6 pepperoni slices, and more mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with some Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Top with the remaining slice of bread.
  • Cook the sandwich in a skillet over medium heat, flipping once until golden brown on both sides.



Storage And Reheating Instructions:
  • This sandwich is best when eaten fresh. If you do have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees Fahrenheit and heat for 2-3 minutes until warm.
Pro Tips:
  • The air fryer I used was the Instant Vortex Plus 6 quart. Since all air fryers are different, you will need to adjust the cook time based on the air fryer you are using.
  • You may need to use toothpicks to hold the sandwich down if using really thin bread.
  • Use a good quality bread for best results. I used country style sliced bread. I love it because it's thick and holds up well in the air fryer.
  • Use a large pancake spatula to make it easier to place the sandwich into the air fryer basket.
  • Be sure to check on your sandwich halfway through the cooking process. It’s cooks really fast!
