Chop up cabbage and onion, mince garlic, and slice red and green bell peppers
Cut smoked sausage diagonally
Heat olive oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven or large skillet and sauté onion until translucent, then add peppers and minced garlic and stir
Add smoked sausage and stir
Add cabbage, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes
Stir, cover, and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Then lift the lid and stir again.
