Smash the garlic: Using a sharp knife, chop the garlic into tiny pieces. Sprinkle a pinch of salt onto the garlic. Using the back of a wooden spoon, smash the garlic until it turns into a paste. Set aside.
To a large bowl, add the mushrooms, melted butter, olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and garlic paste. Toss the mushrooms until fully coated.
Preheat the air fryer to 385 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once the air fryer is ready, add mushrooms to the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 8 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through.
Remove mushrooms from air fryer, let cool, then enjoy as a side dish, appetizer, or snack! Optionally, top with fresh chopped parsley.

Pro Tips:
The air fryer I used was the Instant Vortex Plus 6 quart. Since all air fryers are different, you will need to adjust the cook time based on the air fryer you are using.
Preheat your air fryer according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Garlic powder or store-bought garlic paste will work in this recipe if you don't have garlic cloves.
