Ingredients

Instructions

  • Pat the steak dry on both sides using a paper towel.
  • Cut the steak into 1-inch-thick cubes.
  • To a medium bowl, add the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika and red pepper flakes. Stir until well blended.
  • Add the steak bites to the bowl and toss until well coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or heat for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Once the air fryer is ready, add the steak bites to the air fryer in a single layer and cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 to 6 minutes.
  • Once done, immediately remove the steak bites from the air fryer so that they don’t overcook. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!

Notes

Recipe Variations And Substitutions:
  • You can easily switch up the flavor of your air fryer steak bites with a few simple variations. For a spicy kick, toss the steak pieces in Cajun seasoning before cooking. Prefer a sweet and savory combo? Try using a steak rub made with a touch of brown sugar to add a hint of caramelized flavor. You can also swap out the cut of beef—sirloin, ribeye, or even flank steak all works well.
Storage And Reheating Instructions:
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 3 days.
  • To reheat, place the steak bites in the air fryer at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 to 4 minutes until warmed through, or heat them in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes.
Pro Tips:
  • Cut the steak into similar-sized cubes to ensure even cooking.
  • Preheat your air fryer for the best sear and to lock in flavor.
  • Cook the steak bites in a single layer so that they get crispy on the edges; if you're making a larger batch, cook in batches instead of crowding the basket.
  • Want to feed more people? This recipe can easily be doubled—just keep that single-layer rule in mind.
  • For doneness, aim for about 4–5 minutes for medium-rare, 6–7 minutes for medium, and 8–9 minutes for well-done, depending on your air fryer and steak size.
  • The air fryers used to test this recipe were the Cosori TurboBlaze 6 Quart and the Instant Vortex Plus 6 Quart. Since all air fryers cook differently, you may need to adjust the cook time slightly depending on what air fryer you use.
