What To Serve With Buffalo Tuna Dip:
This dip makes a great appetizer for game days, potlucks, tailgates, holidays, movie nights at home or other family get togethers. Here are some tasty snacks that will go well dipped in this tuna dip:
- Tortilla Chips
- Crackers
- Celery
- Carrot Sticks
- Sliced Bell Peppers
- Chips
- Sliced Cucumbers
- Cheese Chunks
- Little Pickle Spears
Equipment Needed:
- Large Saucepan or Slow Cooker
- Large Spoon for stirring
- Serving Dish
Ingredients:
- Canned Tuna
- Cream Cheese - Full fat cream cheese will give you the best flavor but you can use reduced fat if you prefer.
- Ranch Seasoning Mix - If you don't have ranch seasoning mix or don't like ranch seasoning mix, you can substitute it with a mixture of a ½ teaspoon of dried dill and a ½ teaspoon of dried parsley.
- Hot Sauce - I used Frank’s RedHot Sauce. You can also use buffalo wing sauce or Texas Pete Hot Sauce instead.
- Colby Jack Cheese - You can also use shredded cheddar cheese.
- Garlic Powder - This will add extra flavor.
Stove Top Instructions:
1. In a large saucepan, over medium heat, combine the tuna and hot sauce. Heat until hot, about 3 minutes or so.
2. Add in cream cheese, ranch seasoning, garlic powder and cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted and dip is hot.
3. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy with some tortilla chips, crackers or veggies.
Cold Buffalo Tuna Dip Instructions:
1. In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients together until well blended. Don’t forget to use softened cream cheese because it will be really hard to mix if not. Enjoy right away or cover and place in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Slow Cooker Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and heat on low for 3 to 4 hours or high for 1 to 2 hours. Once the cheese has melted, stir, cover and turn slow cooker to the “keep warm” mode.
Pro Tips:
Be sure to soften the cream cheese either by letting it reach room temperature or removing all the packaging and microwaving it on a microwave safe plate for 10 seconds.
Storage and Reheating Instructions:
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Reheat leftovers in microwave or stove top.

What a fantastic idea for a plain ole pantry can of tuna! I made this for my son's lunch yesterday, and he liked that the tang of the sauce covered up the fish taste! And I liked that he got a little extra vitamin D from the tuna during these sunless winter days. This will definitely be my new "go-to" for tuna in this house!!

Loved this recipe, I like extra meat in mine so I added another can of tuna, but the base recipe was still very good. I definitely plan to recommend this to people!!!
