Why cook Frozen Pizza Rolls in the air fryer vs microwave or oven?

    • It’s quick. These take just 6 minutes to make in the air fryer. It would take double the time to make them in the oven.
    • The air fryer makes them so crispy without adding any extra oil! The microwave just doesn’t get them crispy.
    • The air fryer does an amazing job cooking frozen foods. Just like these crinkle cut fries, you’ll never want to make these rolls any other way once you’ve cooked them in the air fryer.
    • These can be made as an appetizer or a quick snack. I make these all the time when I am in a time crunch and my kids love them!

How long do you cook frozen Pizza Rolls in the air fryer?

All you need is 6 minutes of air fryer time to produce the best Pizza Rolls. They will need to be put into the air fryer in a single layer for the best results. See the recipe card below for complete instructions.

How do you keep Pizza Rolls from exploding?

The best way to prevent the Pizza Rolls from bursting is to not overcook them.  Cooking them for too long of a time or at too high of heat will lead to bursting. If they burst, then you will need to try cooking them for a little less time. In the air fryer, this could be as simple as reducing the time by 10 to 15 seconds. Be sure to always keep an eye on them when cooking in the air fryer and check on them halfway through.

    Q&A:

Should I use oil to cook air fryer frozen Pizza Rolls?

No. Just cook them in the air fryer and the air fryer cooks them perfectly without the need for extra oil.

What sauces go good with Pizza Rolls?

Dipping sauces like ranch dressing, marinara sauce, and pizza sauce make excellent choices. You can also make my spicy garlic aioli or sriracha aioli dipping sauces.

    Equipment Needed:

    Air Fryer

    Ingredients:

Frozen pizza rolls in a tan bowl on a white marble surface.

    Instructions for Air Fryer:

    1. Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit and set the timer for 6 minutes.

    2. Add a single layer of frozen Pizza Rolls to your air fryer basket, between 25-40 depending on your air fryer basket size.

    3. Cook for for 6 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through the cooking process at 3 minutes so that they cook evenly.

Instructions for Instant Pot Air Fryer:

    1. Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit and set the timer for 6 minutes.

    2. Add the frozen Pizza Rolls to the air fryer basket and put the basket into the inner pot. Secure the air fryer lid on top. Do not add more than two layers for best results.

    3. Air fry the Pizza Rolls for 3 minutes, then open the lid and using tongs gently rotate them around. Replace the lid and air fry for an additional 3 minutes.

    4. Once they are done, remove them from the air fryer, let cool, then enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.

    Storage and Reheating:

    • Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
    • To reheat, preheat the air fryer to 365 degrees Fahrenheit then add the Pizza Rolls and air fry 3 to 5 minutes until hot. Remember to let them cool down before eating. They will be hot!

    Pro Tips:

    • Let the Pizza Rolls cool down completely before eating. The tomato sauce and melted cheese inside will be extremely hot!
    • I air fried these in a single layer. If you add more than one layer to the air fryer then you will need to cook them longer.
    • Shake the air fryer basket halfway through the cooking process for even cooking.
    • The brand I used was Totino’s Pizza Rolls (pepperoni), but you can use these instructions for pizza bites, pizza snacks, or pizza poppers.
    • I made these in my Instant Vortex Plus 6 quart air fryer, but you can make these in the Ninja or any other air fryer of your choice. Just be sure to adjust the time by a minute or two based on the air fryer you are using.
    • Make your Pizza Rolls taste even better by adding some garlic butter and parmesan cheese to them after air frying.
    • Do not thaw. Air fry them from frozen.
