Absolutely! Just follow the recipe as directed except decrease the temperature to 365 degrees Fahrenheit and increase the cook time to 30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Air Fryer Instructions:

1. Pat the chicken skin completely dry with a paper towel. Set aside.

2. To a large bowl, add the olive oil, ground mustard seed, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until well blended.

3. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and toss until well coated.

4. Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.

5. Once the air fryer is ready, add the chicken thighs to the air fryer skin-side down, and cook for 12 minutes.

6. After 12 minutes, open up the air fryer and flip the chicken. Return the chicken to the air fryer and cook for an additional 12 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit as measured by a food thermometer.

7. Once done, remove the chicken from the air fryer, let cool, and then enjoy!

What To Serve With Air Fryer Chicken Thighs:

  •  Serve these chicken thighs with a vegetable side dish, like air fryer asparagus, air fryer green beans with bacon, or air fryer maple bacon Brussels sprouts and a starch side dish like air fryer sweet potato slices, air fryer fingerling potatoes, or air fryer baby potatoes. At my house, we also enjoy these with a side of rice or air fryer corn on the cob.

  • I prefer to use bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs for this recipe because the crispy skin is so delicious and irresistible. However, you can use boneless skinless chicken thighs if you prefer. Boneless chicken thighs usually take less time to cook, so youโ€™ll want to reduce the cook time if using boneless chicken thighs.

Storage And Reheating Instructions:

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 to 5 minutes until crispy and warm throughout.

Pro Tips:

  • The air fryer used to test this recipe was the Instant Vortex Plus 6 quart. Since all air fryers cook differently, you may need to adjust the cook time accordingly.

    I got my new air fryer yesterday and I didnโ€™t know much about them. I knew it was coming so when at the grocery store, I bought some large bone in, skin on chicken thighs. My brotherโ€™s comment was โ€˜good luck with that. Iโ€™ve never had anything I liked out of an air fryer.โ€™ I made two of the thighs with this recipe. I asked him if he wanted one and he said yeah Iโ€™ll try it. They were delicious! Even my brother loved it. The flavor was great and they were very juicy. Iโ€™ll definitely be making these in the future!!
