Additional dipping sauces to try:
Equipment Needed:
- Air Fryer
- Medium Skillet
Ingredients:
For the cheeseburger egg rolls:
- Ground Beef - I used 90/10. It's a more lean ground beef. 80/20 works great as well.
- Yellow Onion - White onion or sweet onion would work too.
- Diced Pickles - I diced up some pickles. Dill pickle relish would work as well.
- American Cheese - I like the creaminess of American cheese.
- Cooked Bacon Crumbles - I used store bought cooked bacon crumbles.
- Egg Roll Wraps - These can be found in the refrigerated produce section of the grocery store. You can use either egg roll wraps or spring roll wrappers.
- Ketchup
- Worcestershire sauce
- Salt, Ground Black Pepper, Garlic Powder
- Water - This is to seal the egg roll wrap.
For the dipping sauce:
- Mayo
- Ketchup
- Worcestershire sauce
- Smoked Paprika
- Ground Black Pepper
- Garlic Power
Air Fryer Instructions:
1. Make the dipping sauce: To a small bowl, mix together the mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper and garlic power. Cover and chill in the refrigerator while you make the cheeseburger egg rolls.
2. Make the egg roll filling: To a medium skillet, add the olive oil, ground beef, and onions. Cook over medium heat breaking up the ground beef into crumbles until the ground beef is no longer pink and the onions are soft - about 10 minutes.
3. Add in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, pickles, bacon crumbles, and cheese, then stir until well blended and the cheese has melted. Let simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the filling has thickened. Remove from heat.
4. Preheat air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit and set the timer for 10 minutes.
5. Lay an egg roll wrapper out flat and rub some water on the outer edges. Add 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture to the middle of the wrapper. Roll the egg wrapper up folding the bottom corner over the beef, then fold the outer left and right edges in, and then roll up the egg roll wrap. Watch my video or see step by step pictures below to see how I roll my egg rolls.
6. Brush the outside of the egg rolls with olive oil.
7. Add the egg rolls to the air fryer in a single layer and air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, until brown and crispy. Flip the egg rolls halfway through.
8. Remove the egg rolls from the air fryer, let cool, then enjoy with some dipping sauce.
Recipe Substitutions and Variations:
- Egg roll wraps - Spring roll wrappers can be used as well. Spring roll wrappers are thinner and will require less cook time, so be sure to keep an eye on them in the air fryer.
- Egg roll hamburger filling - Ground pork, ground turkey or ground chicken and be used instead of ground beef if preferred.
- Cheese - I used American cheese in my recipe but feel free to use cheddar cheese or whatever cheese you like.
- Cooking oil - I used olive oil in this recipe, but you can use the cooking oil of your choice.
Storage and Reheating Instructions:
- Store any leftovers that you may have in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 380 degrees for 2 minutes until crispy and hot.
Pro Tips:
- I used my Instant Vortex Plus 6 quart air fryer to test this recipe. Keep in mind that all air fryers are different so you will need to adjust the timing based on the air fryer you are using.
- This recipe is based on a preheated air fryer. If you do not preheat your air fryer, then you may have to cook the egg rolls for a longer time (2 to 3 more minutes).
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer. Cook in batches. For the best results, place each egg roll in the air fryer in a single layer without any of the egg rolls touching.

Besides being delicious, these are so much easier for kids to eat than a cheeseburger on a bun. You can snack them or fix enough for a meal. Fix more than enough for late night leftover!!!

All I gotta say is AMAZING. This was an easy and, dare I say, fun recipe! I added a little bit of mustard to the beef for a little extra umph and didn’t use pickles, but these are perfection! I’m addicted.
-I frequently order non-Asian style egg rolls when found as appetizers at restaurants like Philly cheesesteak egg rolls; now I can have these at home whenever I want!!
