    Equipment Needed:

    • Air Fryer

    Ingredients:

Air Fryer Potatoes and Onions recipe ingredients in various dishes on a white marble surface: potatoes, onions, canola oil, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and melted butter.
    • Russet Potatoes - Cleaned, peeled, and chopped into ½ inch thick pieces.
    • Onion - Peeled and chopped into ½ pieces.
    • Canola oil - Vegetable oil, Olive oil, or avocado oil would work as well.
    • Butter - Adds rich flavor. I used unsalted butter.
    • Seasonings - Garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

    Air Fryer Instructions:

    1. To a medium bowl, add the potatoes, onion, canola oil, melted butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss until well coated.

    Make Ahead Method:

Potatoes can be chopped and stored in the refrigerator in cold water for up to 24 hours. Onions can be chopped and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.

    Recipe Variations And Substitutions:

    • Cooking Oil - I used canola oil in this recipe, but vegetable, olive, or avocado oil can be used as well.
    • Potatoes - Red potatoes or baby potatoes can be used as a substitute for russet potatoes if that’s what you have.
    • Onions - White, yellow, sweet, or red onions can be used in this recipe.
    • Seasonings -Try adding Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, or red pepper flakes to make these potatoes spicy.

    Storage And Reheating Instructions:

    • Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
    • To reheat, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and heat for 2-3 minutes until crispy.

    Pro Tips:

    •  When chopping the potatoes, be sure to chop them all around the same size. This is to ensure they cook evenly.
    •  The air fryer I used was the Instant Vortex Plus 6 quart. Since all air fryers are different, you will need to adjust the cook time based on the air fryer you are using.
    • Butter can be omitted if you want these to be dairy free.
