Yes, but keep in mind that bone in chicken thighs will take a longer time to cook. I recommend trying my juicy bone-in baked chicken thighs recipe for the best results.

I donโ€™t have brown sugar. Can I leave it out?

The brown sugar adds a nice caramelization to the chicken, so I recommend using it. However, you can leave it out if youโ€™d like.

Should I cover my chicken thighs when baking them in the oven?

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs - I used organic air chilled boneless skinless chicken thighs.
  • Olive Oil - I used organic extra virgin olive oil.

  • Italian Seasoning

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil and set aside.

  1. To a large bowl, add the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and Italian seasoning. Stir until well blended. You can add more olive oil if the mixture is too thick.

  1. Add the chicken thighs to the sheet pan smooth side up and bake uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes, until the internal temperature is 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Flip the chicken at least once during the cooking process.

  • My favorite way to serve these is over a bed of rice with a green vegetable side dish, like green beans, broccoli, or fried cabbage.

  • Add some heat - Try adding a half teaspoon of salt-free Cajun seasoning or red pepper flakes for a little heat.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the microwave on high for 30 seconds at a time until warm.

    This is so easy to make with staple spices that most of us have on hand. It is so delicious! I think I'm going to make a bunch and then just measure a couple of tablespoons and add oil. You could even just shake it on. Really good!!
