Why You Will Love This Recipe:
- Using the air fryer to cook chicken sausage is the easiest and quickest way to make them. Just like air fryer Italian sausage and air fryer brats, you can make these in half the time it would take in a conventional oven.
- Serve these for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I love to serve these alongside an air fryer omelet and a simple salad. These sausages also make a super easy weeknight meal by serving them with a side of veggies like my air fryer green beans (from frozen), air fryer baby carrots, or air fryer roasted zucchini.
- No prep required. Just open the package and cook in the air fryer and theyโll be ready in less than 10 minutes!

Q&A:
Most chicken sausages that Iโve come across at the grocery store say that they are precooked. You will need to look on the packaging of the chicken sausages you are using to confirm if they are precooked or not.
Yes, frozen chicken sausages can be cooked in the air fryer. You will need to add 2 to 3 more minutes of cook time to ensure they are done. See my instructions below for air fryer frozen chicken sausages.

Equipment Needed:
Ingredients:

- Chicken Sausage - I used Alfresco precooked chicken sausage. Applegate, Aidells, or Trader Joeโs are some of the brands you will see in grocery stores. There are many varieties and flavors of chicken sausages, including apple chicken sausage, Italian, Andouille, spicy, and pepper.
- Cooking Oil - Cooking oil to spray or brush the air fryer basket to prevent sticking. Olive oil, avocado oil, or canola oil work great.
Air Fryer Instructions:
1. Open the air fryer and spray or brush the air fryer basket with cooking oil. Return the air fryer basket to the air fryer.

2. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

3. While the air fryer is preheating, cut 4 diagonal slits on the top of each chicken sausage, about a half an inch apart.

4. Once the air fryer is preheated, add the chicken sausages in a single layer. Cook for 6 to 7 minutes until done. Flip the sausages halfway through.

5. Once done, immediately remove the sausages from the air fryer, let cool, then enjoy!

What To Serve With Air Fryer Chicken Sausages:
- Air Fryer Omelet
- Air Fryer Breakfast Potatoes
- Air fryer Potatoes and Onions
- Air Fryer Peppers and Onions
- Air Fryer Roasted Bacon Potatoes

Storage And Reheating Instructions:
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days.
- Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 to minutes until warm or microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.
Pro Tips:
- Chicken sausage is very lean so be careful not to overcook the chicken sausages as they will become rubbery.
- Do not stack the chicken sausages. Cook in a single layer for the best results.
- The air fryer that I used was the Instant Vortex Plus 6 quart. All air fryers cook differently, so you may need to adjust the time slightly based on the air fryer you use.
