Q&A:
For the best results, frozen shredded hash browns should not be thawed. Cook them from frozen.
The best way to ensure crispy hash browns is to preheat the air fryer so that it's nice and hot from beginning to end.
The best way to make frozen hash browns taste better is to add butter, oil, and seasonings. The butter and oil add rich flavor and gives the hash browns a golden brown exterior and the seasonings ensure they are not bland.

Equipment Needed:
Ingredients (Full recipe located in recipe card below):

- Frozen Shredded Hash Browns - I used Ore-Ida frozen shredded hash browns, but any brand will work in this recipe.
- Olive Oil - Adds flavor and helps the hash browns get crispy and golden brown. You can use canola or vegetable oil instead if you prefer.
- Butter (unsalted) - Adds rich flavor and helps with browning and crispiness.
- Seasonings: Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Smoked Paprika
Air Fryer Instructions:
1. Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. To a large bowl add the frozen hash browns, olive oil, melted butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Toss until well blended. The butter may harden a bit, and that’s okay. Make sure the frozen potatoes are well coated with the butter, oil, and seasoning mixture.

3. Add the shredded hash browns to the preheated air fryer in an even single layer. Gently shake the air fryer basket to ensure the hash browns are in an even layer of ½ inch thick. This is important so that they cook evenly and don’t get too crispy on the outer edges. Cook for 15 minutes.

4. After 15 minutes, open up the air fryer and flip the hash browns. You will need to flip the hash browns in sections.

5. Cook the hash browns for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.

6. Remove the hash browns from the air fryer, let cool, then enjoy!

Recipe Variations And Substitutions:
- Make loaded hash browns: Add cheese, sour cream, sliced green onion.
- Make them spicy: Add cayenne pepper.
- Regular paprika can be used in place of smoked paprika.
